T’ai Chi Chih

T’ai Chi Chih roots reach back thousands of years.

It was developed by Justin F. Stone, a Westerner, and introduced to us in 1974. After Justin taught the traditional T’ai Chi Chuan form for some time, he realized it was too difficult for most people to learn. This inspired him to develop his own form, and with the support and encouragement of his dear friend Professor Huan Wan-Shan, T’ai Chi Chih was born. In 1974, Justin taught his first class in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and in 1975, the first teachers were accredited. There are now over 400 teachers throughout the world. In 1988, he retired and announced that Steve Ridley would be acting head of T’ai Chi Chih. He has been a senior Teacher / Trainer since 1983.
